Vacaaaaation!

Hey all! Thought I'd post quickly just in case I don't have time tomorrow. I still can't figure out how to have a stress-free departure!

To keep things interesting, I've decided to ask a few of my good (non-blogger) friends to fill in for me while I'm away. I think my friends are awesome and they always have tons of interesting things to talk about. Lined up for the next five days are:
  • A friend from high school I used to 'run track' with (I say 'run track' because I used to try everything in my power to run as little as possible ha) and now she's an athletic trainer up in Connecticut. She's my go to lady when it comes to suggestions for stretches and strength training and pretty much everything else ;p
  • A native Californian who ate, drank and played kickball with us in the District for a few years before moving back to the west coast (sniffle, sniffle). She's always checking out fun new restaurants and can whip up some mean meals in the kitchen. Plus, she's a fantastic tour guide, can hang out w/a Miller Lite OR a glass of good wine, and knows a good hot wing when she sees one ;)
  • A New Yorker I've known since I was in first grade (I think?) who always has great food suggestions for when we're in the area. We dined at an excellent dim sum place under her watch :) She's also got an eye for fun, fairly low key bars and is just starting to explore the wonderful world of running.
  • I've got to throw in the token male...and the closest I've got to someone actually from the DC area (aside from Jamie). He's probably the most adventurous when it comes to eating and cooking. His recipes don't disappoint - unless you're a vegetarian. Sorry! I believe his latest experiment involved some pork belly and it sounded GLORIOUS.
  • The guest blogger I've known the longest (since we were FIVE!) has just moved back to the District after spending a couple of years in nearby Baltimore. She's been exploring everything her new neighborhood has to offer, not to mention she's also pretty new to the running thing/addicted to races ;p
I hope you enjoy reading everyone's posts! Off to get some sleep before tomorrow's 17 miler! SO excited that it's capri pant weather!! Hope you all have great Labor Day weekends! Anything fun planned to close out the summer??

I can't believe that you are doing a 17 miler before you leave.. that's nuts!! I hate running in shorts, so I love capri pant running weather, but that also means that it's getting colder and we'll have to start wearing warmer clothing.. blah!

I can't wait to hear about your trip!!! Have so much fun!
